How to Draw Kermit the Frog

***tier-3-top.shtml*** Kermit the Frog

Kermit the Frog is by far - the most easily recognizable character, from the famous show (and movies)...

The Muppets.

Here in this lesson, let's draw him standing up (which is interesting, as normally - you only see the upper part of his body) - and looking straight on.

Let's begin!

How to Draw Kermit the Frog

To begin, first thing - I've outlined some of the various shapes that compose our character.

In doing so - creating a framework to work from...

It helps to give a better sense, of how Kermit the Frog will gradually come together.

You can see below, how I've highlighted in orange - two key areas... his eyes, and the part under his head, where his pointy scarf will be drawn...

Beginning now, go ahead and sketch out the eyes and mouth of the character.

After that, follow along - using these images as a guideline - and bring his head into view, as well as the beginning of his pointy scarf.

Just like so...

Keep going to complete his head (finish the scarf and neck) - and then...

Move on down the drawing, and sketch in his body - as well as his arms, elbows pointing out in either direction, as his hands will rest near his hips.

Here's how it looks...

Legs and feet are all that's left now.

Go ahead and sketch them in - similar to how I've done, in the examples below...

You're cartoon character drawing, is just about complete now.

Couple more things...

First - add black lines on either side of his pupils, so he takes on a look *much closer* to how Kermit's supposed to.

Also - and you don't have to do this...

But go ahead and add a few more lines - opening his mouth, exposing his tongue...

And giving him a big smile. Like this...

And there we have it...

A neat-looking cartoon likeness - colored and all - to one of the most popular characters in the Muppets!

Hope you enjoyed the lesson.

See you real soon, for another!
