Free drawing software is an excellent route to go If you're new to the world of 'digital drawing' - and especially - if you're not ready to shell out a bit more money for a professional program like Adobe Photoshop or Corel Draw. .

Here, I'd like to talk about some of these free applications, where to get them, how to use them, and why they are a decent alternative to some of the BIGGER names out there.

One such program I'd like to give special notice to - is Gimp. As I'm sure you've heard, Adobe Photoshop - my personal preference when it comes to image editing and drawing on my computer, is rather pricey. Gimp, while it doesn't have ALL the bells and whistles as Photoshop - really is a nice alternative.
