How to Draw a Fire Fox

***tier-3-top.shtml*** Fire Fox

So we had another vote - and this week, it was "Fire Fox" as the winner for this Friday's drawing lesson.

And yes - what cool logo, the Firefox web browser has. A cute little animal, wrapped around the world with its tail on fire...

Pretty original!

So here then, let's go ahead and draw my own unique take on the character. As always - these lesson being a base to work from, encouraging you to dig deep into your own creativity and imagination...

Be sure to come up with your own ideas, and implement them along the way. Try all sorts of different things, to make the final product, something straight out of your head!

OK, here goes...

How to Draw a Fire Fox Cartoon Character

It's no surprise...

I love to start out these lessons, with a framework of basic shapes - something that gives you a solid base, from which to grow your ideas.

So here below then, an arrangement of circles and lines - see if you can lightly sketch out something on the paper (or screen!), in front of you.

Here's how it looks...Fire Fox

And next up - given that our little character, is going to be carrying the ENTIRE PLANET on its back, homage to the logo...

It's a good idea to plot out the basic form of the continents. Here in this example, I've got the Americas showing, but of course - feel free to draw which ever section of earth, you choose.

And remember!...

Don't worry about perfection here. You can be messy with your lines. Once finalized and colored, it's all about "the idea" of earth, that we're aiming for.

Fire Fox

On to the drawing now, begin at the head of the Fire Fox, and yes - start by sketching in the left eye, as well as part of the right eye, and the snout.

Perhaps, like so...

Fire Fox

And now, fading what we just drew - out to grey...

Go ahead and bring forth the rest of the head area, subtle lines that slowly give off a cute-looking character, and yes...

A fox! :-)

Fire Fox

So next then, once you've competed the head by finishing off the ears...

Move on down the drawing - and begin to bring forth the neck area, as well as the left leg/paw.

I like to go at it this way - as it's easier to draw what appears foremost to the eye of the observer. The right leg for example, further away - given the angle/stance of our Fire Fox...

Can be saved for later.

Fire Fox

Well...

This next step, is super fun! Get creative, and come up with a series of continents that "look like" the earth's. No need for perfection, again... once it's all colored - you'll be able to tell right away, that it's a planet.

Here's how mine turned out...

Fire Fox

Oh yeah...

And at areas where the continents disappear on the horizon, continue over the framework line (circle), making it look 3D.

Then, in this next step - drawing in the perimeter, will be easier - and also...

Will make your earth look way cooler!

And continue on with parts of the front legs, too...

Fire Fox

Next up then - draw in the strap, that apparently is holding the earth onto the back of our Fire Fox. And then, go ahead and sketch in the back legs, as well as the beginning of its tail.

Like so...

Fire Fox

Simple, spiky lines...

Keep going with the tail, layer after layer.

Fire Fox

And yup - keep right on going!

Fire Fox

And then finally - in the end, when all is said and drawn - here's what our character looks like, minus the underlying framework lines...Fire Fox

But of course, with color - it will look WAY better, and so...

Fire Fox

There you have it!

A simple, cute little "Fire Fox" - homage to the official logo of the Firefox web browser.

Well, I really hope you had some fun with this lesson. It's always entertaining, brainstorming new takes on previously existing characters, and for sure - I had a blast creating this lesson!

Will see you real soon then, for another.
